Mindfulness-Based Approaches
Mindfulness involves an awareness of the present moment, with purposeful attention to one’s full mind-body experiences. As opposed to fighting with or changing negative thoughts or feelings, mindfulness-based approaches encourage the adoption of a compassionate, non-judgmental stance thereby decreasing emotional suffering and helping individuals to embody a more fulfilled life.
Mindfulness-based techniques are often interwoven within each of the above approaches to support individuals as they enhance awareness of their emotions and learn skills and strategies to cope more effectively in their daily lives.
At TPWG we also regularly incorporate the teaching of mindfulness into our groups, training and workshops, both for clients as well as organizations and professionals.
