Registered Psychotherapist
Sierra Gaudreault is a Registered Psychotherapist who received her Master of Education in Counselling Psychology (Counselling & Psychotherapy) from the Ontario Institute for Studies in Education (OISE) at the University of Toronto and her Bachelor of Science, Honours in Biology and Psychology from Queen’s University. She is a member of the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario.
She has several years of experience providing individual and group psychotherapy supporting teens and adults. Sierra may be a great fit for you if you are experiencing challenges with anxiety, depression, emotion regulation, trauma, body image and body shame, self-criticism, identity, relationships and/or life transitions.
Sierra integrates different treatment approaches in order to individualize therapy for each client. She draws primarily from Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Narrative therapy, self-compassion strategies and Feminist therapy. She is passionate about delivering therapy that is trauma-informed, anti-oppressive and client-centered at every step of the way.
Sierra believes in building genuine, safe and warm relationships with clients. She strives to make therapy a space that is collaborative and non-judgemental. She believes that our mental health is intertwined with the identities we hold and the systems that impact them. She therefore encourages clients to bring their lived experiences of ethnicity, sexuality, gender, race and ability status into the therapy space.
Sierra has a range of experience in university, private practice and community settings in the provision of mental health support, peer support, crisis counselling, neurofeedback and community outreach.
Outside of work, Sierra enjoys reading, playing video games and spending time with her sweet cat Onion.
