Charlie Gryspeerdt, M.A., Doctoral Student

Clinical Therapist

TPWG - Toronto Psychology & Wellness Group - Adam Brotherwood

Charlie is a Ph.D. student in Clinical Psychology at Toronto Metropolitan University, where she also completed her master’s degree in Clinical Psychology. She is completing her practicum at TPWG under the supervision of Dr. Andrea Aternali and Dr. Megha Nagar.

Her clinical experience has included training in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, and other cognitive interventions, as well as experience providing both psychological assessment and intervention at St. Michael’s Hospital. This work has allowed for the integration of Dialectical Behavioural Therapy skills and mindfulness-based interventions into her clinical practice.

Charlie is passionate about providing client-centred care that is tailored to the unique treatment goals and needs of each individual. She strives to create a therapeutic space that recognizes and builds upon each client’s strengths, lived experiences, and existing capacities for growth. Charlie has had the opportunity to work with clients experiencing a range of presenting concerns, including anxiety disorders, depressive disorders, trauma-related symptoms, and difficulties with emotion regulation. These experiences have highlighted the remarkable resilience that clients bring into the therapy space and the importance of meeting everyone with compassion and respect.

Charlie approaches her clinical practice with curiosity, empathy, and humility, recognizing clients as experts in their own experiences. She aims to work collaboratively with each person to develop an understanding of their concerns and support meaningful change in ways that feel both relevant and achievable to them.

Outside of her academic and clinical work, Charlie loves to spend time connecting with family and friends, dancing, and refueling by spending time by the water.
