Toronto Psychology and Wellness Group | Anna Francis

Anna Francis is a Registered Social Worker with over ten years of experience providing therapy to individuals and families. Anna provides evidence-based treatment to adolescents and adults with a variety of therapeutic needs including mood and anxiety disorders; trauma; self-harm and suicidal behaviours; and emotional dysregulation. Anna also supports clients with managing interpersonal relationships, parent-child dynamics and through life transitions. Anna has worked in a variety of mental health settings, including community mental health, forensic and inpatient treatment; and home-based intensive services. Prior to joining Toronto Psychology & Wellness Group, Anna worked at a private practice that specialized in Dialectical Behavioural Therapy and provided individual, parent, and group therapy to clients and their families.

Anna is a genuine and compassionate therapist who works collaboratively with her clients to support them in developing confidence in achieving their goals. Anna has worked extensively with family members (parents, siblings, and partners) of those experiencing mental health and addiction issues and supports them in not only caring for their loved one but also themselves. Where appropriate, Anna also engages with and connects clients to other support systems, including community providers to supplement services and increase social support.

Anna obtained her Master’s in Social Work from the University of Toronto and has training and experience providing Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT); Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT); Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT) for the treatment of PTSD; and parenting support for children with mental health needs. She has also been trained in Emotion Focused Family Therapy (EFFT) and Emotion Focused Therapy (EFT), which complement her therapeutic work with clients and their families.

In addition to providing individual therapy at TPWG, Anna also acts as a DBT group facilitator as well as one of the clinic’s Group Program Leads.

In her free time, Anna enjoys getting into the outdoors; taking road trips, and spending time with her children, family, and friends.
