TPWG+MD is a division of TPWG designed to enhance the delivery of comprehensive, multidisciplinary mental health care.
Through the collaboration of a dedicated team of Psychologists, Social Workers, Psychotherapists, Dietitians, Physicians and Nurse Practitioners, TPWG+MD integrates medical expertise with psychosocial interventions for mental wellness and recovery. Committed to providing the highest level of evidence-based care, our healthcare professionals are allies in reducing stigma, raising awareness and promoting inclusivity in the field.
Our mission is to create a space where individuals affected by mental health conditions, along with their families and loved ones, feel respected and empowered as they navigate their health and wellness journey.
TPWG+MD Services Include:
For Children and Adolescents
Comprehensive Eating Disorder Assessment
A three-part intake featuring medical (90 minutes), psychosocial (60 minutes) and dietetic (60 minutes) assessments to determine diagnosis and treatment planning. This service is also part of our Outpatient Adolescent Eating Disorder Program.
Medical Monitoring
Individuals with Eating Disorders require close medical monitoring to facilitate and protect medical stability. Medical monitoring is provided to our patients by a paediatrician with specific training and expertise in the management of Eating Disorders. This service is covered by OHIP* when provided by our physician.
Child or Adolescent Medical Consultation
A 90-minute medical consultation to assess and make recommendations to start or optimize medication and related mental health treatment planning. Parents and caregivers are welcome as part of the consultation process. This service is covered by OHIP*. Follow-up is provided if determined to be necessary following the initial assessment.
Nurse Practitioner Medication Consultation
A consultation with a Nurse Practitioner specifically trained in managing mental health concerns to assess and make recommendations for medication and related mental health treatment planning.
*OHIP-funded services may be accessed only with a valid Ontario Health Card.
For Adults
Nurse Practitioner Medication Consultation
A consultation with a Nurse Practitioner specifically trained in managing mental health concerns to assess and make recommendations for medication and related mental health treatment planning.
Nurse Practitioner Consultation
A 50-minute consultation with a Nurse Practitioner specifically trained in mental health concerns, including Eating Disorders. This consultation will focus on understanding your health-related concerns, providing specific guidance, and prescribing medication where appropriate.
Medical Monitoring
Individuals with Eating Disorders require close medical monitoring to facilitate and protect medical stability. Medical monitoring is provided to our adult patients by a Nurse Practitioner with specific training and expertise in the management of Eating Disorders.
