Dr. Ellie Jin, Ph.D., ABPP, C.Psych.
Clinical Psychologist
Dr. Ellie Jin (she/her) obtained her undergraduate degree in psychology from McGill University and her doctoral degree in clinical psychology (with specialization in psychoneuroendocrinology) from University of Texas at Austin. Dr. Jin is certified by the American Board of Professional Psychology, a recognition held by fewer than 5% of psychologists in North America. She holds concurrent autonomous registrations with the College of Psychologists and Behaviour Analysts of Ontario, and across more than 40 states in the United States through registration with PSYPACT.
Dr. Jin is passionate about working with adolescents and adults experiencing anxiety and mood disorders, trauma, disordered eating, obsessive-compulsive disorder, difficulty with relationships, emotion dysregulation, issues stemming from discrimination and marginalization, and co-occurring endocrine disorders such as polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) and thyroid disorder. Dr. Jin blends evidence-based treatment with warmth and humour, working collaboratively to tailor interventions to each individual’s therapeutic goals. In treatment, she draws from Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Emotion-Focused Therapy (EFT), narrative-based interventions, as well as psychodynamic/relational-based approaches.
Prior to working at TPWG, Dr. Jin provided individual and group therapy within an integrated medical center in Austin, Texas. She obtained her postdoctoral fellowship at the Austin Anxiety and OCD Specialists where she supported individuals across the lifespan struggling with anxiety and OCD-spectrum disorders, including Tourettes and body-focused repetitive disorders (e.g., trichotillomania and excoriation). Dr. Jin completed her residency at the Colorado State University Health Network, which provides adherent individual and group-based Dialectical Behaviour Therapy for individuals recently discharged from voluntary/involuntary hospitalization for self-harm and suicidality.
Dr. Jin is bilingual and can provide services in both English and Mandarin (Chinese).
Outside of work, Dr. Jin enjoys spending time with loved ones, hiking, biking, listening to audio books, playing board games, and going on adventures with her DnD group. In a previous life, Dr. Jin also worked as a user experience researcher at Google and as an organizational consultant for c-suite executives and other senior leaders with Culture Amp.
