Shelly Dilawri, BSc., O.T. Reg (Ont).
Registered Occupational Therapist
Shelly Dilawri is a Registered Occupational Therapist who has been practicing psychotherapy within the mental health field for over 15 years. Her passion to help individuals going through various mental health issues, life changes, and postpartum adjustments has strengthened over the years. She is ignited by the challenges that come with helping those who need assistance to overcome challenges, feel empowered, and reach their full potential.
Shelly is trained to build programs and treatment to suit the individual through the lens of Cognitive and Dialectical Behaviour therapy. Using these core principles as the foundation for her approach, she has helped many climb over their mental barriers and reach recovery. She works with adults struggling with a range of mental health difficulties including eating disorders, disordered eating, mood disorders, anxiety disorders, interpersonal relationship issues, perfectionism, and major life transitions (such as divorce, pregnancy, pregnancy loss, and career changes). Prior to joining Toronto Psychology & Wellness Group, Shelly was an individual and group therapist in the Eating Disorder Program at Toronto General Hospital for over 13 years. She approaches treatment from a trauma-informed perspective, creating space for clients’ unique identities and experiences.
As a mother, wife and daughter, Shelly knows first-hand the complexities that come with the ups and downs of life. This has further fuelled her passion for helping individuals regain their independence by identifying unhealthy patterns and building new insights and skills to create their best life.
Outside of work, Shelly loves travelling, practicing daily mindfulness, and East Indian dancing, in which she’s classically trained.
