TPWG - Toronto Psychology & Wellness Group - Samantha Watt

Samantha (Sam) Watt (she/her) is a Registered Social Worker who received her Master’s Degree from the University of Toronto with a specialization in mental health. Sam is also a Certified Complex Trauma Professional and has ten years of experience working in the mental health field and provides individual, family and group therapy to adolescents and adults.

Sam applies attachment and recovery-oriented frameworks to support clients with trauma, individuals diagnosed with Borderline Personality Disorder, and those who have challenges with emotion regulation, or who are struggling with grief, loss, or challenges with mood. She regularly works with sensitive souls and emotionally gifted folks who are feeling overwhelmed, as well as with those seeking support with binge eating or who have had bariatric surgery, all while using a Health at Every Size framework. Sam also values supporting families and helping them to understand their loved ones with mental health challenges.

Sam believes the therapeutic relationship, collaboration, and unconditional high regard are key to the therapy process. She is able to provide an eclectic and individualized approach using a variety of modalities with a focus on DBT, CPT, CBT, Mindfulness, and CTTP.  Whichever approaches are used, Sam practices with a sense of humour, honesty and authentic dedication. She doesn’t just nod along and say things like, “And how does that make you feel?”

In her spare time, Sam enjoys cuddling with her two dogs, making ceramics, and holding amazing dance parties in her kitchen.
