Parent Therapy

Specialized individual or group therapy sessions are available for parents looking to support adolescent and young adult children in better managing mental health challenges.

These sessions are aimed at helping parents reduce problematic behaviors such as acting out, disordered eating, avoidance, self-harm, and substance use, and they work to help parents cultivate a more positive home environment that reinforces effective communication and connection.

Parent therapy often guides caregivers in learning specific DBT skills to help de-escalate dysregulation in the home, to validate their child’s emotions while setting appropriate limits, to effectively manage mealtimes for those with eating disorders, and to improve parental communication and coping.
